I remember my dog Rowdy on any of my birthdays. The reason I remember him is because my mom got him for me as a late birthday present. I thanked my mom and loved him ever since.
My dog’s name is rowdy and he is a full blooded Labrador. He has goldish colored ears, yellow or goldish colored fur, big brown eyes, and big webbed paws because he is a water dog. His traits are being a loveable, playful, tough kind of dog. I think of him as a very smart dog. He knows how to sit, stay, get his collar on his own, speak, shake, high 5, and walk the neighborhood without his leash. When people ask whose dog he is I tell them that he is my big ball of fur that is very smart.
There was this time I was thinking about Rowdy on my twelfth birthday. When it happened I was eleven years old and it was the time Rowdy saved me and my grandma. It had been cold for the past couple of nights in December and my grandparents and I had been watching some TV. I was about to go get me a drink when I heard barking coming from the garage. I asked grandma if she had heard barking too. She said she did so we went and checked it out. When we opened the garage door it had gotten real quiet. The out of nowhere this huge pitbull/ boxer dog stepped out from behind my grandma’s car. It had been slobbering as if it was a waterfall. The monstrous looking dog made me and my grandmother a little frightened. I called Rowdy over to me. When he heard me calling he perked up his ears came over. When the big dog saw him it started barking and getting closer. As the dog was approaching us Rowdy saw it and took one step forward. Then he showed his teeth and barked a couple of times then growled. The dog became scared and started to whimper. It laid down in front of rowdy as if it was bowing down to a king. Then the dog scampered off. After the ordeal I told my grandma and grandpa that I noticed the dog before. I also told them I know where it lives, so the very next day we went over to where the dog lived and spoke to the owner. We asked them if they could keep the dog on a leash when no one is supervising it. The owner agreed and we went our separate ways. We never saw the dog again on our property but we still see him while we are walking the dogs.
